Hydrocolloids maintain a moist environment over a wound, providing the optimum conditions for it to heal. Hydrocolloid technology has been used in hospitals for many years as it stops hard scabs forming, which can reduce pain and scarring and promote faster healing.
At just 0.12mm thin, this dressing is so flexible that it stretches and conforms with the movement of the body like a second skin. It is totally transparent so the wound can be monitored as it heals and is so gentle it can be easily removed without causing trauma to the skin. It is also breathable, waterproof and specially designed to create optimum conditions for healing whilst keeping water and germs out.
Silicone plasters and dressings provide protection from dirt and germs and use a low allergy, latex free adhesive which allows the plaster / dressing to be repositioned or lifted to monitor the wound, without loss of adhesion. They are also breathable to aid healing, kind to skin and pain free on removal.
